The Don Arturo Destino al Siglo de Familia — "Destiny of the Century, Family" — is Carlito Fuente's most personal expression in the 100th Anniversary collection, a 6.125×47 Corona named for the foundation of everything the Fuente company has ever built. More than a century of cigar making in a single family is an extraordinary thing in any industry, and the De Familia vitola was created to honor exactly that — the generations of Fuentes who carried the brand from a small Tampa operation in 1912 to the most sought-after name in premium cigars. Released in extremely limited quantities as part of the annual charity events the Fuente family conducts with J.C. Newman, it benefits the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation and is available only once a year at select authorized retailers.
The 6.125×47 Corona is the most refined format in the Destino al Siglo lineup — a narrower ring gauge that focuses the Habano-seed Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper's aromatic character into a more precise, concentrated draw. At 47 ring, the wrapper makes up a proportionally larger share of every puff, which means the Habano seed's natural sweetness and spice come through with more clarity and definition than in the wider vitolas. The aged Dominican binder and filler from Chateau de la Fuente provide the earthy backbone and peppery depth underneath, and the construction at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia holds up cleanly across the full length — even burn, smooth draw, and a firm ash that reflects the quality of the rolling.
Cedar and Habano spice lead the first third, dark chocolate and leather developing through the middle, and cocoa and earth carrying through to a peppery, long finish that closes cleanly. Medium-full in strength, nuanced in delivery, and built with the care you'd expect from a cigar that carries the word "Family" in its name.
