Product details

The FFOX Opus X Story Forbidden X Red is one of the most complete collector's experiences Arturo Fuente releases each year — four rare vintage Fuente Fuente Forbidden X cigars presented in a red Prometheus travel humidor alongside the exclusive publication "20 Years of Fuente Fuente OpusX," a personal interview with Carlito Fuente and a detailed pictorial history of the last two decades of the Opus X legacy. Released twice a year in limited quantities — just 700 sets per colorway — it's the kind of package that moves quickly and holds its place in serious collections long after the last cigar is smoked.

Every Forbidden X inside is a full Dominican puro built from the rarest tier of tobacco Chateau de la Fuente produces. The vintage aged Dominican Shade Grown wrapper comes from the Fuente family's private tobacco inventory — very old stock that Carlito barrel-ages in a restricted area of the factory before it's ever touched by a roller. That process — the barrels, the restricted room, the time — is what separates the Forbidden X from every other Fuente release and gives the blend its unmistakable character. The four vitolas cover the full range of how the blend performs: one Robusto, one Double Robusto, and two Toros, each showcasing the aged Dominican leaf at a different ring gauge and length.

Medium in strength and remarkably smooth throughout, the flavor profile runs through caramel and spice up front, oak and cedar building through the middle, and a clean leather finish with a natural sweetness that only comes from estate-grown, barrel-aged Dominican tobacco. The publication inside is a piece of cigar history on its own. The four cigars are the reason you don't let this one sit on the shelf.
