Hold Fast Maduro is a 6×52 box press rolled at AJ Fernandez's Tabacalera Annex in Estelí, Nicaragua. It runs a rich Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper over a Nicaraguan Estelí and Colombian binder and filler — the same Colombian leaf that adds complexity to the blend, now paired with a darker, sweeter wrapper that takes the whole profile somewhere deeper.

The San Andres Maduro does a lot of work here. It brings a natural sweetness and an oily, dark character that sets the tone from the first draw, while the aged Nicaraguan and Colombian leaf underneath builds out the body and keeps things complex through the middle. The box press construction delivers a consistent, even burn with an easy draw that holds up start to finish.

Flavor-wise you're in rich, satisfying territory — espresso and dark chocolate up front, warm baking spices and a hint of molasses developing through the second and third thirds, finishing long and smooth without ever getting harsh. Medium-full in strength, it's bold enough to hold your attention without wearing you out.
